MentorClone vs Get Mentors: A getmentors.ai Alternative

· MentorClone Team

MentorClone is an AI mentor for people who want a straight answer from one expert, built only from that person's public work, with a link to where they said each point. Get Mentors (getmentors.ai) does something different: a phone app with 441 famous names that sends you one idea each morning and answers questions with AI summaries of their published work. If you want breadth and a daily habit for little money, Get Mentors fits. If you want one person's advice on your decision, checkable against their own words, use MentorClone.

Get Mentors: many names, summarized

On its homepage and FAQ (checked October 11, 2026), Get Mentors describes "441 mentors" and "one idea every morning, drawn from mentors selected for your chosen focus". You pick five for a "Chat board" that "answers your questions from published sources". Names on the homepage include Alex Hormozi, Warren Buffett, Robert Cialdini, Jim Collins, Seth Godin and Sara Blakely.

It is open about what those answers are. Its FAQ calls each one "AI synthesis of what a mentor has published, written about them in the third person and labelled as such." Asked whether you are really talking to the mentors, it says: "No, and we never pretend otherwise." Each position links to the work it came from, often a book or a shareholder letter.

Pricing (checked October 11, 2026): $7.99 a month, or $39.99 a year with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan. It runs on iOS and Android.

That's a lot of people for not much money, and the honesty about AI summaries is good to see.

MentorClone: one person, in their terms

Each MentorClone mentor is built from one person's own videos, podcasts and posts. Arvid Kahl, Rob Walling and Marc Lou cover building a business. Jeff Nippard covers training, Emma McAdam anxiety and coping skills, and Cal Newport deep work and focus. None of them built or endorsed their mentor, and every mentor page says so.

You describe where you're stuck and get a direct recommendation for your situation. Each point links to where they said it, down to the moment for video, so you can hear it in their words. When they never covered your question, the mentor says so instead of guessing. It remembers your situation between conversations, and you can see and delete those notes in settings.

It works in the browser, and your AI agent can use the same mentor. Claude Code, Cursor and other MCP clients can ask Rob Walling's mentor before they write your pricing page. See Give Your AI Agent a Mentor.

Where each one falls short

MentorClone has far fewer people. If the person you want isn't on our list, Pro and Max let you build a private mentor for yourself: type their name and we find where they publish. Only we publish mentors for everyone. It's English only, and it costs more than Get Mentors.

Get Mentors spreads across hundreds of names, often drawn from their books. Its answers are third-person AI summaries about the person, not their own words. Five mentors summarized side by side is good for seeing angles. It's less good when you need one clear call you can trace back to a specific moment.

Some people will use both: a daily idea from a wide shelf, and a mentor for the decision in front of them.
