MentorClone lets you ask a mentor about your situation and get a straight answer built only from what that person actually said. It remembers your situation across conversations, links each point to where they said it (the exact moment for video, the post for articles), and says so when they never covered your question. Your AI agent can ask the same mentor over MCP (Claude Code, Cursor, and other clients that accept an API key) before it acts for you. Plans start at $19 a month. ## Who it is for - **People** learning something or working toward a goal who want advice from someone who has done it, and want to check it. A good coach can cost hundreds an hour and the people they most want to learn from don't take calls; their free advice is spread across hundreds of hours of video, podcasts and posts. - **AI assistants and agents** working toward a user's goal. Before an agent makes a call on the user's behalf, it can ask a mentor and follow cited advice instead of general knowledge. ## Mentors Subscribers on any plan build private mentors for themselves from someone's public work: they type the person's name, MentorClone finds and checks their blog, podcast, YouTube channel and X account, and builds from the sources they tick. A private mentor is visible only to the person who built it. Only MentorClone publishes mentors for everyone. The person a mentor is built from is not affiliated with MentorClone and has not reviewed or endorsed its answers; a mentor comes down the same day if that person asks. In short: decisions and questions, from a person or from their AI agent, that should be answered from a specific mentor's published advice, with a citation for each claim. ## How It Works 1. **Pick a mentor** - Each mentor is built from one person's public videos and blog posts, and nothing else. 2. **Describe your situation** - What you want to learn or achieve, where you are now, the decision in front of you. The mentor keeps short notes so it does not ask again next time. 3. **Get a recommendation with sources** - The mentor searches the person's evidence and compiled topic pages, then answers with a direct recommendation. Each point links to where they said it: a timestamped video link or a blog post link. 4. **Honest gaps** - If the person never covered the question, the mentor says so instead of guessing. ## Using MentorClone from an AI agent (MCP) MentorClone runs a remote MCP server over Streamable HTTP. It works with Claude Code, Cursor, and other MCP clients that can send an Authorization header; there is no OAuth sign-in yet, so clients that only support OAuth connectors cannot connect. Setup: sign in at https://mentorclone.ai/auth, pick a plan at https://mentorclone.ai/pricing, create an API key in settings, then copy the install command shown there or on any of your mentor pages. The key is sent as a Bearer token in the Authorization header. Main tools: - `list_personas` - The mentors available to this key. - `search` - Evidence from a mentor's sources: short quotes with URL, timestamp, and date. - `ask` - A cited answer to a question, including a clear refusal when the person never covered it. - `get_topic` - A compiled topic page with the person's claims and the evidence for each. - `timeline` - A person's claims on a topic in date order, showing when a view changed. Further tools cover chat sessions, saved answers, sharing, and the notes a mentor keeps about you (`get_my_profile`, `remember`, `forget`). ## Features ### Direct recommendations with citations Ask about your own situation and get a clear recommendation drawn from the person's principles. Each point links to the video moment (timestamped), the podcast episode page, or the post it came from, so you can check it before acting on it. ### Memory of your situation When you mention your goals, your experience, or your situation, the mentor keeps a short note so later answers fit your context. You can see and delete these notes in settings at any time. ### Topic pages and timelines Each mentor has topic pages that list the person's claims, each with its evidence and date, so you can see what they believe and how that changed. ### Chat history and sharing Conversations are saved per mentor. You can save answers, and share a conversation via a public link (mentorclone.ai/shared/{id}) that can be revoked at any time. ## Price MentorClone is a paid subscription with three plans: Starter at $19 a month (400 questions, 1 private mentor, 1 build a month), Pro at $29 a month (1,200 questions, 3 private mentors, 3 builds a month, ask several mentors at once or have them debate), and Max at $59 a month (4,000 questions, 8 private mentors, 5 builds a month, ask several mentors at once or have them debate).
